Diego Correa who is a Phd student in the NYU’s UrbanITS center @ the Department of Civil and Urban Engineering received the “2016 Outstanding Graduate Student Award Scholarship for academic achievements in support of Intelligent Transportation Systems” from ITS NJ. ITS NJ is the ITS America State Chapter of NJ. Diego’s doctoral thesis is on the development of demand models using the NYC’s taxi data under the supervision of Professors Chow and Ozbay. On January 2017, he is going to present a paper based on his PhD work at the upcoming TRB annual conference. The title of his TRB paper is “Exploring the Taxi and Uber Demands in New York City: An Empirical Analysis and Spatial Modeling”.
